Infrequently seen TNA Knockout Hamada was recently in danger of being released but scored a reprieve from management due to the shortage of female wrestling created by Lisa Marie Varon's departure from the organization, as well as injuries suffered by Angelina Love and Daffney. TNAWrestlingNews.com is reporting that talk of cutting Hamada led to much head scratching amongst the wrestlers as she's considered the best worker in the Knockouts division.
D'Angelo 'The Pope' Dinero recently suffered a labral tear in his shoulder. Though he appeared at last week's television tapings to take part in a segment promoting the Top 10 Contender’s Rankings, he told friends he's a month or two away from being healthy enough to return to the ring. In the meantime, he'll be kept on iMPACT! on a weekly basis.

Backstage WWE Update: Joe 'Michael McGillicutty' Hennig
WWE giving Joe Hennig the name of Michael McGillicutty on the new season of NXT has many in the company baffled, especially since they acknowledged him as the son of Curt Hennig during a video package that aired. According to friends of Joe's, he was under the impression that as recent as a few weeks ago that he would be using the Hennig name on the main roster. Ever since coming to developmental, Hennig has been told to look and work like his late father because he would be using the Hennig name.
It's no secret that WWE likes complete control of their talent names, but to give a guy like David Otunga his real name on the roster and give Hennig a gimmicked name, makes no sense to most. The name Hennig would obviously mean a lot more to wrestling fans than a name like Otunga.
We'll see what happens with the gimmick.

Ted DiBiase And John Morrison Returns..???
It appears as Ted DiBiase has been cleared to return after suffering a concussion at the Over The Limit PPV. At the weekend WWE live events, Mark Henry defeated Dibiase (no Virgil) by DQ when Dibiase hit Henry with The Millon Dollar belt.
John Morrison was back on the road with WWE this weekend. Expect to see him on RAW this Monday.

Thursday's episode of TNA iMPACT! drew a 0.87 (0.9) cable rating, with 1,052,000 viewers.
WWE Superstars scored a 0.76 (0.8) rating, with 802,000 viewers. The replay drew a 0.18 rating, with 160,000 viewers.

The Undertaker Is Not Dead (Really!)..
SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long announced on Friday Night SmackDown! that over the Memorial Day weekend, The Undertaker was found by his brother Kane "in a vegetative state," following a vicious assault of unknown origins. As noted earlier, the storyline sparked much curiosity regarding the health of The Undertaker as according to www.India-Server.com, thousands of wrestling fans are searching online to find out whether he has really died. The website added: "Till now no official statement has been issued by the wrestler’s family or the World Wrestling Entertainment. The fans of Undertaker are praying for his well being."

Edge: 'I May Only Have Two Years Left', & More
In an interview with the Asheville Citizen-Times, Edge (a/k/a Adam Copeland) indicated that he is nearing the end of his wrestling career.
He said he plans to settle down with his girlfriend in Asheville, North Carolina once he retires, where WWE is holding a RAW brand house show tonight.
"I'm coming up on my 20th year, and I've definitely had some injuries that have shortened my career," Edge said.
"That's part of the reason I bought up here — we want to retire and listen to the wind in the trees, and we want to do it fairly soon. I may have two more years. With each injury, it's harder and harder to come back."
It should be noted that talent is always saying things like this and they always wind up staying around for much longer so take that quote for what it's worth.

Rob Zombie Will Host WWE RAW.. & Wade Barrett - WWE Storyline Plans..
The guest host for the 6/28 RAW taping in Philadelphia, PA will be rocker/director Rob Zombie. WWE had briefly announced Khloe Kardashian as the guest host that night but she wasn't 100% confirmed, so WWE quickly removed the announcement and went with Zombie. We were the first to report last month that Rob Zombie was going to be hosting RAW in the near future.
WWE has a few ideas in mind for Wade Barrett as there was talk of having the NXT winner team up with mentor Chris Jericho to go after the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship. There has also been talk of having Barrett face R-Truth or Kofi Kingston for their respective titles.

ECW Originals Faction In TNA ?
As previously reported, the reason TNA did the storyline with taking Mick Foley off TV was because he was running out of dates on his contract. Foley recently pitched an idea to TNA officials that he'd return this summer with a new stable. It's been speculated in the past that Foley would team up with a group of ECW Originals.

Vince Russo is looking to become Executive Producer of TNA iMPACT, if he leaves the creative team. This is similar to the job that Kevin Dunn holds on WWE's RAW brand.
Despite returning to the ring already, Kurt Angle is still banged up from the Lockdown match with Mr. Anderson. Angle hurt his ribs again at the May 21st TNA live event.
Speaking of busted ribs, Homicide is also nursing some soreness after working in a bad ring on the independent scene a few weeks back. Homicide aggravated the injury even worse during a match with Japanese legend Jushin Liger at the May 22nd for Jersey All Pro show.

The Undertaker's Injury Update & Justin Gabriel's WWE Future ?
As reported earlier, Undertaker suffered a broken orbital bone, broken nose and a concussion after taking a seated senton from Rey Mysterio during a match taped last week for Friday Night SmackDown!. It was not the first time in which he broke his orbital bone as he suffered the same injury while working a match with Mabel (a/k/a Viscera) in 1995. The injury forced him to don a grey mask for a few weeks while he recovered.
There has been talk of having Justin Gabriel team up with another babyface, possibly Matt Hardy. Many feel his talking ability is lacking and thus needs someone who can speak on his behalf.

Report: How Did Randy Orton Really Dislocate His Shoulder?
Two days before Over the Limit, Randy Orton dislocated his right shoulder while attempting a dunk in pick-up basketball game in St. Louis. This explains why he was favoring the shoulder at the house show in Cincinnati the night before the pay-per-view event.

Chris Jericho To Host ABC Show ?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Jericho will host a new game show for ABC. Downfall starts on June 22nd, and features contestants trying to answer questions while on the roof of a Los Angeles high rise. THR adds the following explanation: "the largest conveyor belt ever seen on TV" will send potential winnings (cash and prizes), the player's personal possessions and even friends and family over the side of the building." The show has been picked up for a six episode run, and will air after Wipeout.
Vince McMahon's WWE Return, NXT Rating Is In...
It's worth noting that Vince McMahon returned to television this past Monday night on RAW after informing WWE stockholders in April that he had no intention on returning to television. McMahon said: "No, I don't intend to be back in the ring. Then again, I never intend to be in the ring and somehow it happens. There are absolutely no plans whatsoever for me to get back in the ring right now. We are hopeful that won't happen."
