Isis the Amazon, Leva Bates & Niya Get TNA Tryouts

Isis the Amazon, who was to have appeared as the protégé of Vickie Guerrero on the third season of WWE's NXT as Aloisia, wrestled a dark match against Florida independent women's wrestler Leva Bates prior to tonight's iMPACT! taping in Orlando, Florida, reports WrestleBabe.net.

The six foot nine grappler pinned Bates following a chokeslam.

Bates has previous TNA Wrestling experience as she competed against Awesome Kong in the $250,000 Fan Challenge in June 2008. She is a product of the Team 3D Academy of Professional Wrestling in Kissimmee, Florida.

Florida based independent women's wrestler Niya worked a dark match last night against Madison Rayne. Billed as Niya Verino from Las Cruces, New Mexico, she lost to the TNA Women's Knockout Champion.

Niya is a product of the World X-Treme Wrestling (WXW) promotion in Florida, which was founded by WWE Hall of Famer Afa "The Wild Samoan". She has also worked matches for Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU) as TNA newcomer Rosita's tag team partner.

This Week's WWE RAW Rating Is In

-- This week's edition of WWE RAW drew a 3.14 (3.1) cable rating, with 4,761,000 viewers. The show did hours of 3.03 (3.0) and 3.25 (3.3). It should be noted that The Rock's TV return during the 20-minute over-run segment averaged 5.70 million viewers. That means that from the first hour to the over-run, RAW increased by nearly one million viewers. The real test will be next week now that fans know who the WrestleMania host is.

-- The 2/12 edition of AM RAW drew a 0.31 (0.3) cable rating, with 353,000 viewers.

-- Obviously The Rock's return to pro wrestling is great for WWE, TNA, ROH and wrestling as a whole. This creates more buzz & interest in the current pro wrestling scene which is obviously good news for all wrestling companies and fans alike.

Matt Hardy Confirms Girlfriend Rumor, TNA Injury?

-- Douglas Williams was dropped on his head during a match with Hernandez at last night's iMPACT! taping in Orlando, Florida. The match was stopped for Williams to be evaluated. Williams is said to be fine following the injury scare. He is not expected to miss any ring time.

Backstage Update: The Rock-McMahon Angle At 'Mania?

-- There was discussion at RAW that the anonymous RAW General Manager will be revealed as Vince McMahon, thus leading to a Vince McMahon-The Rock angle at WrestleMania. This could also be part of the reason Vince McMahon did not appear on RAW last night as originally planned.

-- As noted earlier, numerous major media outlets have picked up The Rock's return to WWE. The Associated Press, FOX News, PEOPLE, The Washington Post, and many others have covered the story thus far. Expect lots more media in the coming days.

-- The Miami Herald has an interview up with Alicia Fox, which you can check out at http://www.miamiherald.com/

-- Next week's National Enquirer features an interview with Chyna. In the interview, she discusses the low points in her life, here is a quote from the upcoming article… "I didn't want to die and when I was in the hospital the last time I knew the reality was if something didn't change I would [die]"

Backstage Update: The Rock's Return Kept Secret, More

As noted yesterday here on the site, The Rock's WWE return was kept a secret from nearly everyone within WWE. WWE senior management members were led to believe through the course of the week that Bob Barker would be the host. This was obviously a plant in order to keep the return a secret.

The Rock arrived to the arena late during the evening yesterday. He was kept in a secluded dressing room until his return to TV.

Original plans called for Vince McMahon to appear on the show to announce the WrestleMania guest host. They even plugged it last week. Also, The Rock was not scheduled to appear on RAW so something changed over the weekend.

The Rock News: Censored On RAW, WWE.com, Twitter

-- For those who missed it, nothing from The Rock's RAW promo was censored by WWE or USA, with the exception of his first use of the word "ass."

-- While the USA Network eventually stopped censoring The Rock, The Score in Canada bleeped every mention of "ass" during his promo.

-- The Rock has been added to the alumni section of WWE.com.

-- The Rock is the top trending topic on Twiter right now.

Jim Ross Blogs On The Return Of The Rock, More

Jim Ross has posted a new blog, here are the highlights…

The WWE hit a home run when they brought back Dwayne Johnson to be the Host of Wrestlemania 27. Who would have been a better choice?

For my money....no one.

Sorry, young Mr. Beiber.

The Rock's Raw closing promo was golden. I smelled money while he was commanding the live audience. My instincts tell me that fans watching at home were just as emotionally invested as were the fans in Anaheim.

Rock created as much magic Monday Night in Anaheim than Walt Disney did on his best day in the same city.

Hopefully, all the talents who were still at the Honda Center locker room area were listening closely to what the Rock said, when he said it, and saw how he was a majestic maestro who had the live audience in the palm of his hand.

One could tell that Rock was enjoying himself. His DNA is 'ring worthy.'

Great promo men over the years had one common denominator. They all could 'feel' the audience.

Rock felt it Monday night.

He once told me that what he always missed most about appearing in WWE was the adrenaline rush that he got from the live audience. Nothing on Earth can replicate that unique feeling for any entertainer/athlete, etc.

Trust me on that one. (Announcers kill for moments like Monday night.)

Some fans are hammering us on Twitter @JRsBBQ proclaiming that it will be Rock vs. Cena at WM27. That's not what I heard. I heard that Rock was Hosting the event which works very well for me. Will there be some sort of Rock/Cena interaction? Sounds that way to me which is why I'm 'staying tuned.'

With Rock as the Host of the biggest WWE event of the year inside the Georgia Dome, fans can expect the unexpected.

WWE and the Rock aren't collaborating at WM27 without the Rock making a significant IMPACT in Atlanta.

How does the man that Hollywood knows as Dwayne Johnson make an impact w/o wrestling in a match?

Very easily. Rock did it tonight and never laid a hand on anyone.

All I know is that business picked up in WWE Monday night and with all that is planned for WM27 I can't wait to attend the event live.

I expect more huge announcements to come at the Elimination Chamber PPV and soon thereafter as in 2/21/11.

JR Praises The Rock

-- Jim Ross tweeted tonight, "Dwayne Johnson's classic 'Rock' promo 2nite on RAW was the best thing on RAW in recent memory. Young wrestlers hopefully paid attention."

Steve Austin: "it was great to see The Rock back on RAW tonight...helluva promo from an electrifying cat. great stuff heading into Mania."

Val Venis: "I am just as happy as anyone else the Rock is back. As long as he sticks to the mic, we are good. Cuz his wrestling ability is questionable. Not hating on Rock. He is AWESOME on the mic. His charisma is unmatched. But lets be honest, Rock>Hardy & Venis>Rock! HONESTLY!"

CM Punk: "Rock owes me fifty bucks for going 20 minutes past the hour, making me miss my valentines day reservations at Nobu."

Big Show: "Did anyone notice the chill bumps on Rocks arms as he gave his catch phrase? The rock is back!"

Taz: "GREAT JOB by Rock! Miss having steaks with him & Dud's after shows!!! Great times! 1 of the greatest of all times!!!"

The Rock Speaks - WWE Return, Future, Mania, Cena

The Rock did a WWE.com chat where he talked about his return, WrestleMania 27 and more. Check out the highlights:

On why he returned now: "Because I felt the time was right to so something special. Not only can I feed my own need and desire to perform. More importantly than that, do something special for you WWE fans. "

On what he missed about WWE: "The thing I've missed most is the indescribible moment that was tonight. The culmination of the fans, their energy, my energy, my desire to entertain them and their endless desire to be entertained. "

On his goals for WrestleMania 27: "My goal is to create an incredible show. The guys have prepared for this night all year and they are going to put on incredible wrestling matches and I am there to not only support their matches but work with the great WWE production team and put on an electrifying show. That means I will be backstage and in the ring creating unforgettable and iconic WrestleMania moments. "

On his favorite WrestleMania memories: "My favorite WrestleMania matches of all time were Icon vs. Icon in Toronto vs. Hulk Hogan and vs. Steve Austin in the Houston Astrodome. Both of those matches will go down as two of most memorable. I had the honor of working with two titans of WWE. "

On John Cena: "John Cena said a variety of things that came across my desk which at first I thought was interesting and then I felt was laughable because the comments really didn't make any sense to me. To be clear, not that they ever make me mad. I just thought the comments were an interesting choice of things to say. "

On Social Media: " The platforms of social media are fantastic. I started facebook seven months ago and I started twitter tonight. The facebook platform is one I'm very proud of because it has been inspiring, funny, entertaining and motivating. What I'm most proud of is that anyone can come to the page and not only read my posts but read posts from people all over the world and that's a really cool thing."

The Undertaker's WWE Return (2/21/11) + SD! Main Event

Vickie Guerrero is set to crown Dolph Ziggler as the "new" World Heavyweight Champion at the SmackDown! tapings in San Diego this week. Guerrero also claimed on RAW that Edge would be "fired" on the show. Of course, this is all an angle. We'll have full spoilers from the show late tomorrow night/early Wednesday. The show is on the west coast so it'll be a late night for spoilers.

The Undertaker briefly appeared in a 2/21/11 video that aired on RAW so his return is now set for that date. Will the Sting to WWE rumors stop now? Please?!?! There were plans last week to do a Triple H vs. Undertaker match at WrestleMania. We'll have more shortly.
